Initially slated to be renovated into a cultural center and amphitheatre (per the 1995 Master Park Renovation Plan), the original bathouse has been transformed over the last year into the new Family Aquatic Center. Closed since April 23, 2008, the area will re-open Memorial Day 2009. The budget for the bathouse renovation was $7.8 Million and will have new amenities including:
• Accessibility throughout the site, building and pool

• Recreational Swimming Pool featuring beach entry, bubblers, current channel, vortex,
fountains, and separate splash pad
• Lap lanes

The 53 acres Piedmont Park expansion is currently in progress.
